Coast Sundance Lodge is just 45 minutes outside of Kamloops, British Columbia in Sun Peaks. This little mountain town is a great getaway for families and adrenaline enthusiasts alike. Offering many shops and restaurants along with a variety of cuisine, there truly is something for everyone to do in this European-style village located a short 45 minutes’ drive (50km / 31 miles) from Kamloops.

Sun Peaks Resort is Canada’s second largest ski resort with 16 square kilometers (6.2 sq mi) of skiable terrain comprised over three mountain ranges. With the two main ski lifts situated right outside the door of Coast Sundance Lodge, our ski-in, ski-out accommodations are the best places to stay in Sun Peaks for access to the mountains. Sun Peaks Resort also offers 40 km (25 mi) of Nordic trails that are easily accessible from Sundance Lodge. There are also plenty of outdoor activities and things to do in Sun Peaks during the summer with festivals, free outdoor concerts and sporting events.

Sun Peaks provides a variety of activities during the winter months. You can ski and snowboard across 4,270 acres of skiable terrain over three mountains with trail offerings for all skill levels. Each mountain at Sun Peaks Resort is unique and easily accessible from the pedestrian-only village at Coast Sundance Lodge. With powder or fresh snow conditions often lasting for several days, there are plenty of fresh tracks to be had during a day on the hill. If you are a powder fanatic and want to be the first to carve fresh snow, you can register for First Tracks and start your ski day at 7:45 am while the rest of the resort is still waking up. With over 37km of groomed terrain, Sun Peaks Resort does offer multiple options and caters to any and all skiing levels as the mountain crew is busy every night grooming and track setting for both Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.

Other activities in Sun Peaks during winter include thrilling dog sled tours, ice fishing, horse drawn sleigh rides, and a recreational tube park. There are also many events in Sun Peaks throughout the winter such as artisan markets, camps, races, wine and food festivals.

With beautiful, breathtaking 360-degree views, colourful alpine blossoms and a variety of other summer activities for your family. While in Sun Peaks stop and visit one of the Heffley Lake, the best & nearest lake to swim, canoe or even try stand-up paddleboarding near Sun Peaks Resort. There are also many events throughout the summer such as weekly markets, live music, and art exhibitions making Sun Peaks is a beautiful summer getaway.

If you love mountain biking, then Sun Peaks Bike Park has grown a reputation as a must ride in the mountain biking community. In addition to the Bike Park, there are over 40 downhill and cross-country trails. There are also 18 hiking trails ranging from relaxing strolls to exhilarating summits offering beautiful views of the three mountains at Sun Peaks Resort: Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, and Mt. Morrisey.

Another popular activity in Sun Peaks is golfing at the one beautiful, yet challenging golf course in the region. A difficult 18-hole course located 1,200 metres above sea level, making it the highest golf course in BC. With two very visually different types of holes between the front 9 and back 9 holes many golfers feel like they are planning two different courses. The Sun Peaks Resort Golf Courses offers you a scenic, very interesting, fun, par 72 Graham Cooke designed golf course all in a beautiful alpine resort. Or practice your golf swing at the open driving range conveniently located inside the village promenade where golfers attempt to drive see how far they can wake balls up Tod Mountain.

North America’s first Mountain Cross Cart Course is located slopeside and right outside the back doors of the Coast Sundance Lodge. Race down 512-meter-long course at speeds up to 35km/hr and boosted by many as the probably the most exciting and way to descend a mountain!

Coast Sundance Lodge the best ski-in/ski-out accommodation in Sun Peaks. With the two main chairlifts located within in a minute walk from our hotel back doors. This means you can be first in line to ski on those fresh powder days, or quick access to your room for a delicious snack or to add or take off a layer. Sun Peaks has a generous 4,270 acres of skiable terrain with 13 lifts, 137 trails and a 10-acre terrain park that are easily accessible by chairlifts.

CLooking for more of a challenge? Make your way over to Mount Morrisey for some of Sun Peaks hardest inbounds terrain. This is also a local’s favorite spot during the spring. Return back the Coast Sundance Lodge for apres at Bottoms Bar & Grill; another local’s favorite.
