Not ready for prime time
Construction was still ongoing when we stayed overnight July 13. Ladder in hallway, open ceiling, ice machine not connected. No vending machines. The room we had booked online through the hotel website after receiving a promo email (because we are Coast customers) was not available as it was not pet friendly.
We were not informed of this until arrival. As we checked in, the front desk clerk informed us that for “future reference” the hotel only allows small to medium sized dogs. We have never been informed of this at other Coast hotel stays and our dog has always been enthusiastically recieved(esp at Revelstoke). I should also state that the logo picture on the promo email showed a family with a Labrador Retriever( a medium to large sized dog breed). It definitely did not feel like a dog-friendly establishment.
The room we were placed in had lovely bed linens but dusty laminate floors that were unappealing and adversely affected the air quality in the room. There were no tissues in the bathroom and there was also no shower curtain(not discovered until 4:30 am when I was hoping to mitigate my migraine). The manager rectified this quickly when advised as he had also done when the mattress on the bed collapsed due to the box spring being installed upside down.
Although the manager tried hard to appease us and offered us a complimentary meal, this had to be drawn to staff’s attention at checkout as the bill had not been adjusted.
Due to the poor sleep and overall unsettling experience, we forgot some prescription medication in the room and are still waiting for a call back regarding this.
Overall we felt this experience was not consistent with other Coast hotel stays we have enjoyed.
Would definitely come again if they don’t raise their prices.
Lovely stay. Very clean and friendly. Road into hotel was under construction so was awkward getting in and out. No breakfast provided, they said they just opened and didn’t have it available. No pool available either.
