The original booking must be made via Coast Hotels
Guest must have a confirmed reservation and a system generated confirmation number with Coast Hotels in order to make a claim
The best rate promise applies to published rates available to the general public and booked with Coast Hotels
The booking must be made for the same hotel, the same number of guests, the same number of rooms and room type, with the same rate restrictions, for stays on the same dates (number of nights)
If a lower rate is found, Coast Hotels will match the lower rate and apply an additional 10% discount to the room rate per night
If the rate booked is eligible to receive benefits such as Coast Rewards points, or Frequent Flyer points and a lower rate is found, Coast Hotels will still honor and reward the points
Best Rate Promise Claim needs to be submitted within 24 hours (1 Days) of making the reservation booking on coasthotels.com
For a claim to be eligible under the Best Rate Promise, it must be submitted through the claim submittal web form available here
If a lower rate is found on another website, but is lower due to currency exchange rate or rounding has been applied, our Best Rate Promise will not apply. Specifically, in the event that the competing rate is in a different currency from that on coasthotels.com, the competing rate will be converted into the same currency as the rate offered on coasthotels.com. The currency exchange rate to be applied will be based on the exchange rate that would have been used by the applicable Coast Hotel at the time of making the original reservation. After converting the competing rate, Coast Hotels reserves the right to deny a claim where the competing rate appears lower than the rate found on coasthotels.com if it deems that the difference between the rates is due to, but not limited to, different currency exchange rates used by the two rate providers
Our Best Rate Promise only applies to the room rate for the duration of the reservation and does not include any taxes (unless otherwise noted), tariffs or fees imposed by any government authority (federal, state or local) on either Coast Hotels or the guest for the duration of the guest’s stay. The rates being compared to determine if the claim is valid must both either be with taxes included, or without taxes included
Coast Hotels has the sole right and discretion to determine the validity of any claim, including without limitation, determining that the Competing Rate is genuinely available and that the claim meets all terms and conditions
Best Rate Promise Claim is Not valid if:
When a website does not reveal the name of the hotel or the room rate until the booking is made (examples of this include ‘opaque’ or ‘auction’ sites, such as Hotwire)
When a website combines travel, entertainment, hotel and/or food and beverage components into one consolidated package price. Examples could include combining airfare or car rental with a hotel stay or airfare, hotel stay and dining vouchers
For packaged rates that include taxes, service charge, meals, coupons and vouchers, parking, services or other amenities
For rates that have been negotiated by the hotel with corporations, group rates, membership rates, government rates, promotional rates, travel agency rates (for example AAA, AARP, Industry Rates), Online Travel Agencies (OTA) net rates, Vacation Rentals, Airbnb or loyalty program rates. Other membership programs (for example TravelZoo, Groupon, Homeaway etc.)
Rates that are discounted by a public website by way of a coupon, rewards credits or by way of a wholesale site or partner (ie: Amoma, Cancelon)
For rates offered by, or on behalf of, unit owners or a homeowners association for stays at Coast Hotels and its affiliates
For rates offered on on-request websites and mobile applications that do not provide immediate hotel confirmations, including, without limitation, any such websites or mobile applications that require five minutes or more to validate a reservation (e.g., Asiaweb and Ctrip)
For rates displayed on websites that do not provide the ability to make a reservation
For individual rate plans not offered to the general public
The Best Rate Promise does not apply to existing reservations that are not booked through a Coast Hotels Website, and Coast Hotels is not responsible for any fees associated with cancelling a reservation made through a different channel (e.g., a non-Coast call centre, a non-Coast Hotels booking channel)
A valid Best Rate Promise claim may be invalidated if (1) the name on the submitted claim form does not match the guest’s name on the relevant reservation, or (2) any changes are made to the relevant reservation after such reservation is made
Coast Hotels reserves the right to amend, revise, supplement, suspend or discontinue the Best Rate Promise or these Best Rate Promise Terms at any time in its sole discretion and without prior notice
Mobile Apps are not eligible for the Best Rate Promise as these sites require a membership action from the guest. A guest must download the app, create a personal profile, and enter credit card details. This is a form of membership or loyalty program and therefore not eligiable.(e.g. HotelsTonight, etc.)
