Best Rate Promise Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions of the Best Rate Promise:

  • Reservations must be made directly through Coast Hotels to be eligible.
  • Guests must have a confirmed booking with a system-generated Coast Hotels confirmation number to submit a claim.
  • The Best Rate Promise applies to publicly available rates booked through Coast Hotels.
  • The competing rate must match the original booking in every way, the same hotel, room type, number of rooms and guests, stay dates, number of nights, and rate conditions.
  • The lower rate must be publicly accessible, viewable, and immediately bookable without any restrictions or membership requirements.
  • If a qualifying lower rate is found, Coast Hotels will match it and offer an additional 10% discount per night.
  • Eligible bookings will still receive Coast Rewards points or Frequent Flyer miles, even if a lower rate is found.
  • Claims must be submitted within 24 hours of booking on coasthotels.com, using the official claim submission form.
  • Currency differences due to exchange rates or rounding do not qualify. Competing rates will be converted using Coast Hotels’ applicable exchange rate at the time of the original booking. Claims will be denied if rate differences result solely from currency variations.
  • Our Best Rate Promise applies only to the room rate for the full duration of the reservation and does not include any applicable taxes (unless otherwise noted), tariffs, or government-imposed fees. Rates being compared must include or exclude taxes in the same way.
  • Coast Hotels reserves the sole right and discretion to determine the validity of any claim, including confirming that the competing rate is genuinely available and that all terms and conditions have been met.

Best Rate Promise Claim is Not valid if:

  • When the booking site does not disclose the hotel name or room rate until after booking the accommodation (e.g., “opaque” or auction sites).
  • When the rate is part of a bundled package that combines travel elements such as airfare, car rental, meals, parking, amenities, vouchers, or entertainment.
  • When the booking site does not offer instant confirmation at the advertised rate (e.g., shopping or on-request services).
  • When the rate requires special membership, login, or affiliation to access (e.g., member-only pricing or negotiated corporate rates).
  • When the rate is tied to special events or meetings with a group or promotional code (e.g., sports tournaments, conference blocks).
  • When the rate is negotiated or contracted through a third party or is part of a closed user group, including:
    • Corporate, group, or government rates
    • AAA, AARP, or industry rates
    • OTA net rates, loyalty program rates, vacation rentals, or Airbnb
  • When discounts are applied via public website coupons, reward credits, or wholesale partner sites.
  • When offered by unit owners or homeowner associations at Coast Hotels or affiliated properties.
  • When the site or app does not allow for immediate booking confirmation (e.g., on-request sites with delayed responses).
  • When the website shows rates but does not support actual reservations.
  • When the rate plan is not available to the general public.
  • When there are differences in rate terms (e.g., deposit requirements, cancellation windows, or change fees).
  • When the original reservation was not made through a Coast Hotels website. Coast Hotels is not responsible for any third-party cancellation fees.
  • If the claim is submitted under a different guest name than on the original reservation, or if changes are made to the reservation after booking.
  • If the competing rate is found on a mobile app requiring account creation or login (e.g., app downloads with profile and credit card input), as this constitutes a membership or loyalty program.
  • Coast Hotels reserves the right to amend or discontinue the Best Rate Promise and its terms at any time, at its sole discretion and without prior notice.
