Coast International - Anchorage
Have used this hotel for the past 25 years for both business and pleasure. I have never had a bad experience during any stay. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The hotel and rooms have been recently renovated/updated. The location is convenient and close to the airport. The hotel is on Lake Hood, which is a Float Plane Base. Throughout the day, planes are coming and going so it can get a little noisy, but this is Alaska, and you get use to it. I wouldn’t think twice about staying at this hotel again. All in all, no complaints!
14 days here for out of state quarantining, rooms was decent. No microwave or fridge upon arrival. The brought a mini fridge to the room that had seen better days. Still offering dinner and drinks to go, but relatively over priced. Breakfast is good.
No where close to the photos
To say I was extremely disappointed is an understatement. Walking to my rooms the halls had a strong cigarette smell. Like the bars in the 80’s and Alaska has a no smoking in building law. I was afraid to take off my shoes in the room. It was hard to tell when it (or if it was)cleaned last. I thought I would tough it out for the 14 days for quarantine. But the last straw was when I went to pipers to get something to eat and the hostess treated me like I was a homeless beggar. Her extreme rudeness on top of everything else was the final straw. I stayed one night and went somewhere for the remainder. I could not with good conscious recommend this hotel
Excellence in time of crisis
We stayed at the hotel during a family crisis. My husband was hospitalized. During our stay we witnessed the hotel staff adjust to the community crisis of spreading virus. Staff continued to meet all our needs, from housekeeping, front desk, and restaurant staff. Everyone remained calm and professional.
What a great place to stay. Free airport shuttle. It’s close to airport and across the street from Lake Hood, the largest float llane lake in the U.S. Photo taken outside my window looking at Lake Hood.
