Delightful digs for dogs
Due to an airline schedule change, I (along with my Old English Sheepdog) had to overnight in Seattle. After perusing the options based on the length of stay, I chose the Coast Gateway.
We arrived around 10:30 PM, and the shuttle came over within a few minutes to meet us at the airport. Driver was friendly and the ride, brief.
The room was clean, with a nice view of the A gates at SeaTac.
The only thing we found awkward was the shower/tub. When you first walk into the bathroom, there is a commode and a glass door (as you would see on almost any walk-in shower). However, when you open that door, it leads to a full sized bathtub, so there is a fairly high lip that one must step over to get into the tub. Not a huge issue, but certainly a surprise.
Older style hotel, small TV … but plenty of channels.
The staff was outstanding and the stay, quite pleasant.
On the return, we took a morning shuttle to the airport, then realized that we had left a checked item in the hotel storage room. My colleague had to return on the same shuttle and retrieve that item. However, the hotel was very accommodating and let him return on the same shuttle (as opposed to waiting another hour) with a flight crew.
This hotel is not among my preferred brands, but I would absolutely stay again, particularly if I had a pet with me.
Very good with a few minor issues
Despite a few cosmetic defects and a shower head that wasn’t properly affixed spewing water over the bathroom, the room was one of the most clean I have ever experienced in a hotel, and the young lady who checked me in was most outstanding in her courtesy and helpfulness. Whenever I’ve been flying from SeaTac I’ve stayed at other hotels and never went back. I think I’ve found a place I’ll stay at again, although the free breakfast was continental style so I ate a real breakfast at a lounge in Terminal A. Despite being right next to the airport my room was very quiet, although some annoying traffic noises from an occasional loud vehicle on International Blvd. were heard in the morning.
It works for an evening
The location is fantastic as you really can’t get any closer to the airport than the Coast Gateway. The shuttle service is easy to use and the drivers are friendly. The hotel has seen better days and probably is due to be updated. The sound proofing is lacking as you can clearly hear the aircraft taking off loudly or the person in the next room having a normal volume conversation. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay then it may suit your needs.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I had a dog crate that I was not sure would fit on the shuttle, and staff went out of their way to measure the shuttle door, etc. and promptly get back to me. EXTREMELY close to the airport and the shuttle service is quick and easy to use. Highly recommend!
Over night stay
As I was simply passing through Seattle, my review is short and sweet.
For those I met with, everyone was professional and thorough. I feel they went over and above,
If all Coast Hotels are this nice and the staff this courteous, I will seek them out wherever I go.
