Very Noisy on a Busy Street
My experience at the Coast Annabelle in Burbank was not good right from the start. Even though I booked this room months ago and was staying for 5 nights, I arrived to find that I was given probably the worst room on the property. The room was right on a busy street (more about that later) and near both the elevator and the maids closet. I asked for another room away from the street but was told none were available. I asked for a manager and even though it was only 3PM on a Monday, no manager was on duty. The clerk then did find me another room, but it was also on the street.
I returned to the room about 8:15 PM. I noticed that the clock was 45 minutes behind. With no way to change the clock time, I called the front desk. They told me that the maintenance man was on break and wouldn’t be back for 30 minutes. I told them that I had arrived from the east coast and was up at 5 am and that my body thought it was approaching midnight so that I was ready for bed and this could be dealt with in the morning. I put my “Do Not Disturb” sign out and went to bed. 15 minutes later there was a knock on my door despite the DND sign. I got dressed to find out it was the maintenance man. I let him in to adjust the clock. After 10 to 15 minutes of him not being able to adjust the time (radio kept going off), I told him to please leave and deal with it in the morning. He ignored me and kept on working. I asked him a second time to please leave and he proceed to try and put the clock back together. I finally asked him to unplug the clock and LEAVE NOW. Hoping the bad experience was behind me, I went back to bed. 10 minutes later, the phone rings and it’s the front desk saying they were sorry about the experience. I asked to speak with the general manager who I was told was “Tony” and who would be in the next morning.
A report should have gone to management based on the initial unhappiness with the room. A second report should have gone to management based on the unsuccessful and unpleasant experience with the maintenance department and my request to speak with the GM. During my 5 days there, I was never contacted by anyone in management.
This property is right on a busy 5 lane street, only a sidewalk width away. All night cars race by. Four of the 5 nights police sirens woke me up in the middle of the night. Almost half the rooms are right on the street.

Super happy with this hotel!
My friend and I chose to stay in Burbank for our trip instead of staying with friends. I used to live in Burbank, so I kind of knew where I wanted to be located for the week and I had heard about Coast Annabelle. I gave it a shot.
Very friendly staff. Clean–and not just clean, housekeeping put the room back to “new” each day!
The bed and pillows were fantastic and the bathroom was HUGE. Loved it. I haven’t slept that good in years…
It was quiet in the room unless people were loud in the bar area but that stopped at a reasonable time. Then it was quiet all night–no doors slamming or toilets flushing.
I would definitely go there again but I would call them directly to book. I believe I booked through hotels.com or something and I should of called to see if I could get a slightly lower rate.

I spent 2 nights at this hotel. It’s older, needs updated and not a great value for the money. I paid $219 a night during the week. The “fitness center” was across the street at a local motel. It consisted of 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical and a couple of dumbells. Embarrassing.
One positive note…the rain shower head was awesome.
On google maps this hotel says ” high end choice with a French bistro” HAHAHAHAHAHA
The Coast Anabelle was the perfect location for us to visit the studios and tour around Burbank! The room was well equipped and very clean!
The restaurants food was fantastic and the burgers were remarkable! Dennis, the evening bartendar was an event on his own and a great time!
Mostly the staff were outstanding, friendly and knowledgable, all of them! A special thanks to Luis our driver, who went out of his way for us and had great suggestions for our visit and to Lourdes and Laurie in the restaurant!
Will be back for certain, thanks Tony!

Not what I had expected
The room and staff were all nice, but there were a few things that were disappointing.
1. There is a bar on the first floor that was so noisy our first night that we had to request a new room and even after that we could still hear it. It ended up going past 10pm even though the bar closes at 10pm.
2. The shuttle to Universal Studios was booked and didn’t have any room available at the times we wanted to go. I had assumed it was a regular schedule that you could catch a regular times and not have to book in advance.
3. The pool is not on site but across the street at the Safari hotel.
