I have stayed at the Coast Discovery many times over the years
The most recent renovation was welcomed as the place was getting to look as if it had passed it’s sell by date
However a couple of unwelcome changes which need to be fixed if they are to keep my business
Bring back the Globe and Mail
The Campbell River Mirror is a decent local rag but every hotel ought to provide the option of a national newspaper
The WiFi was sooooo slow and reading the newsfeed was painful
The fitness room opens at 7.00am which was very disappointing for us business types with early morning meetings
The free breakfast is big plus
Good Value Pleasant and Clean
The hotel is an older one, but the room that we had had been renovated recently and had been updated in a slick, modern way. A generous work space with lots of electrical outlets and a comfortable office chair made for efficient use. The heat/air conditioning unit was one of those that sits under the window — not my favourite. The location right on the water and walking paths was a bonus. What made the stay even better was the cheerful and helpful front staff. They were a real plus.
Not sure if I would stay there again
The staff were very friendly but the rooms were not great. The walls were paper thin and that was in the best part of the hotel. The sink stunk so bad in the bathroom. It is an older hotel that hasn’t been remodeled in a number of years but it is a Coast Hotel. I think I would book at another hotel if going back to Campbell River.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Coast Discovery Inn. The room was clean, the breakfast was hot and fresh, and the staff were warm and pleasant. Great location and close to everything. We will definitely stay there again.
Getaway in Cambell River BC
Bright spotless room, everything you need for a nice stay, close to seawalk and shops. Great fish and chips across the street on the wharf…Hot Breakfast is OK not great, Good Internet and the facilities were nice!
