Wagner Natural Area is a scenic spot for fall larch viewing near Edmonton, where tamarack trees turn golden yellow against the surrounding black spruce. The protected landscape includes boreal forest, calcareous fens, marl ponds, willow swamp and aspen parkland, offering a mix of scenery throughout the natural area.

Visitors can explore the 1.5-kilometre Marl Pond Trail, which passes through several of these habitats and offers views of tamaracks along the trail and around the marl ponds. Fall brings a striking mix of golden foliage, evergreens and wetland scenery, making it a colorful time to visit.
