1. Windscape Kite Festival

When: June 22, 2019 @ 10:00 a.m. to June 23, 2019 @ 5:00 p.m.
What better way to take advantage of the vast blue skies above than to attend the Windscape Kite Festival? You will never see a sight quite as spectacular as the kite-filled skies above Swift Current. You will be blown away by the soaring art from giant creatures to roaring stunt kites and from battling fighter kites to trains and buggies. The internationally acclaimed and award-winning event attracts celebrity kite flyers from around the world.

There is plenty to see and do at this family-friendly, free event, including live stage entertainment, children's activities, a candy catapult, stunt kite flying lessons, a straw bale maze, kite talks, and more. You can participate in a kite building workshop, stroll around the wind sculpture garden, and participate in the photo and colouring contest.

2. Long Day’s Night Music Festival

When: June 20, 2019 to June 23, 2019
The summer solstice brings us the longest days of the year. Celebrate the lasting daylight with great music and lots of fun under a big-top tent at Marston Street and 11th Avenue SW. The music is varied and attracts some of the best toe-tapping bands and performers ever to take the stage under one "roof." 3. Frontier Days Fair & Rodeo

When: June 26, 2019 to June 29, 2019
This four-day event is a true rodeo experience, where you’ll get caught up in the skills and spills during horse riding, bull riding, and barrel racing shows. This is an authentic wild west event presenting a glimpse at Canada’s cowboy roots. Activities include midway rides, grandstand concerts, a trade show, a cattle show, 4-H competitions, a parade and fireworks. This is a family event guaranteed to entertain, with pancake breakfasts, a “Get Your Prairie On” parade, and a grand finale fireworks display that will light up the vast prairie skies.

4. Celebrate Canada Day

When: July 1, 2019 @ 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Dress in red and white from head to toe before heading out to Memorial Park in Swift Current to celebrate this great country. 5. Watermelon Festival

When: July 21, 2019 @ 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Don’t miss the 25th Annual Watermelon Festival at Mennonite Heritage Village. This charming site depicts the life and times of early settlers in Swift Current. It also showcases the contributions Mennonite immigrants made to the area. This living museum features restored artifacts, buildings, and costumes from the 1880s to the 1920s. The festival itself celebrates the flavours of the sweet, bright pink melon, which features prominently in events and foods. young girl eating watermelon People flock to the event just to get a taste of roll kuchen, a mouth-watering, deep-fried pastry served with cold watermelon. You can also enjoy Faspa, an authentic German lunch that Mennonite families eat at large gatherings to celebrate fellowship. 6. Great Southwest Shakespeare Festival

When: July 26, 2019 to August 16, 2019 This festival is designed to make cultural events more accessible to the community and surrounding areas with a focus on youth. The inaugural production, “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” is perfectly suited for the warm evenings at this time of year. Performances will be held at Riverside Park with six shows a week. If you want to take in the final performances, you can also plan to attend the Summer Games.

7. 2019 Western Canada Summer Games

When: August 9, 2019 to August 18, 2019 This is a great coup for the town that will host its first Western Canada Summer Games. It is the largest event of its kind to take place in the area. Sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to take in 16 sports at over 20 venues in Swift Current. There will also be a variety of cultural performances and programs happening in the area. The competitions will include:
