We’ve highlighted a few well-known attractions as well as a couple of local gems you may not have heard about, but we think are well worth a visit. Need more hints about where to go and what to do? Known for its endless outdoor recreational opportunities, the authentic mountain community of Canmore offers a delightful small town atmosphere. There are several walking and cycling trails throughout town that will take you to Canmore’s six square block downtown core only a short five minutes away, where you can shop for quaint gifts, visit museums or look through one of several art galleries. If you’re the adventurous type, skiing, hiking, biking and fishing await you in this scenic setting. Plus we’re easily accessible to nearby Banff attractions.

Canmore River Adventures

Lake Louise Gondola

Cruise for fourteen glorious minutes, in an open chair or a fully enclosed gondola, to one of the Banff National Park’s greatest views! Adventure seekers can experience an unforgettable helicopter tour of the spectacular Canadian Rockies with Alpine Helicopters.

AJHL Canmore Eagles

The Canmore Eagles are a community owned, not-for-profit hockey club who joined the Alberta Junior A Hockey League in 1995. Since their inception, the Eagles have won the Southern Division title on two occasions (2001-2002 & 2002-2003) and have qualified for the playoffs every year with the exception of the 2011-2012 season when the team embarked on a youth movement. The Canmore Eagles play a total of 60 regular season games in a season that stretches from early September to late February. The AJHL playoffs can extend the season until mid-April, with the Canadian championship tournament (the RBC Cup) slated for early May.

BIKE Canmore

Canmore is Canada’s mountain sports destination. Here the impressive landscape of the Canadian Rockies offers unique experiences for cyclists from all disciplines and of all abilities. Biking here is in our nature. Canmore is home to the Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail, three Mountain Bike Skills Parks, and over 80km of multi-use pathways and trails in town. Within an hour drive of Canmore there are over 100 sanctioned mountain bike trails adding up to more than 500km in length.

Canmore Nordic Centre (1.1 km)

This expansive ski Centre boasts 65 kilometers of groomed and track-set trails for all skill levels. In the summer, you can enjoy an 18-hole disc golf course, four orienteering courses, more than 100 kilometers of single and double-track mountain bike and hiking trails, 6.5 kilometers of paved roller-ski trails and a mountain bike skills park.

Elevation Place (0.1 km)

Canmore’s newest attraction, Elevation Place is an expansive indoor entertainment facility, offering an aquatics Centre, a library, a gymnasium and much more.

Main Street Canmore (1 km)

Canmore’s Main Street features quaint, artsy local shops and galleries just minutes from the hotel.

SilverTip Golf Course (2.3 km)

This pristine Les Furber-designed course has been awarded four-and-a-half stars by Golf Digest magazine and allows golfers the luxury of quality mountain golfing.

Ski Norquay (26.3 km)

The area’s oldest ski area, Norquay boasts five ski lifts and well-groomed runs for all skill levels. You can even try night skiing at this resort.
