Galloway Station Museum
Galloway Station Museum, Travel Centre & Archives is one of those easy stops that gives you a fuller sense of Edson and the stories that shaped it. Inside, you can explore exhibits on the region’s railway, timber and coal history, step into a life-sized trapper’s cabin, walk through a mine shaft display and get a closer look at local wildlife through the taxidermy collection. There is also a telegraph station where you can try Morse code, leave a message for future visitors and enjoy a few interactive touches that make the visit feel more personal.
The museum also works well as a convenient stop on your trip, with visitor information, free wi-fi, a coffee bar, a gift shop featuring locally made items and accessible spaces that make it comfortable to explore. You can relax indoors at the bistro tables and seating area, or head outside into RCMP Centennial Park, where benches, picnic tables and open green space make it easy to stay a little longer.
