Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall

Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall will take you back in time the moment you walk in the door. Opening its doors in 1971 dignifies this venue as Canada’s first, and oldest, operating casino. Sporting an 1898 saloon theme perfectly fits the Gold Rush era theme you’d expect in Dawson City. The gambling hall gets its name from a Gold Rush era dancer named Gertie Lovejoy, who gained her fame by adorning her two front teeth with diamonds.

The real highlight is the daily Can-can dancing shows, but you’ll also find the traditional casino games like slots, roulette and blackjack to try your luck on. Even if you aren’t a gambler, it is definitely  worth stopping by in the evenings to check out Northern entertainment at its best!

Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall is a not-for-profit enterprise, with all revenue invested back into the community to preserve the heritage buildings.
