Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, great location!
I had a lovely 4 night stay at the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel! The dining was excellent in the Blue Crab, the Lounge and on the Patio. My room was comfortable, the pool simply lovely, and the staff so wonderful.
Our favorite hotel when visiting Victoria!
We like to stay here at this hotel because of the location, service and amenities and prefer it over the Empress Hotel where rooms are smaller and more noisier. Our corner room was #908 and we had nice views of the harbor from both windows. The queen suite was large and comfy. It had a mini-frig which was empty so you can store your own treats which I like.
The hotel location is a 10-15 minute walk from the Victoria Clipper landing which we used coming here. From the hotel, it’s about 20-30 minute walk to the downtown attractions, stores & restaurants but they have a nice path along the water for most of your walk. We like walking and this is a good location if you like to run as hotel is located in the James Bay area so you explore the neighborhood and head for Ogden Point (where the cruise ships dock) and see Cordova Bay inlet with views of the Gulf Islands. There is a nice paved path along the water here as well. It’s really the best of both worlds because you really get to enjoy the beautiful scenery and also the busy downtown activities.
The hotel provides a shuttle service also when you need it. We used this service when heading out for dinner one night and of course gave the nice driver a tip. There is also a water taxi service that can pick you up in front of the hotel. They have tokens at the hotel front desk they sell for $3 instead of the $5 fare (per person) you would pay to the boat operator so this is at a discount and convenient. You can charge it to your room and not have to worry about carrying small change with you.
The hotel’s restaurant “Blue Crab” takes advantage of their harbor view so you can watch the boats and seaplanes coming and going during your meals. We had good breakfasts and appreciated that they bring a carafe of coffee to your table. We are big coffee drinkers so this is always a plus!
There is a outdoor/inside swimming pool that takes advantage of their view. They also have a few tables near the outside pool area for you to use.
The hotel is about ten minute walk to Fisherman’s Terminal where they have the most colorful and creative water homes for you to see. There is also a lovely park and playground area for kids here.
Great location lovely views.
We always enjoy staying here. The hotel is well-maintained, the staff is efficient and friendly. This year our mattress was very lumpy — needed to be replaced. The bathrooms could use updating but overall we really like this hotel.
Stains on BED
Disgusting room, and under cooked breakfast! Staff were okay not that friendly either. Would reccomend huntington manor instead. Do not stay here for the price it is definitely not even remotely worth it.
Great view and location
Within walking distance to all the fun things to do while in Victoria. Free underground parking. Great views of the water. It’s not right in the heart of downtown victoria, but an easy walk to anything you’d like to see or visit
