Excellent location, only 5 min walk to the convention center, great value, cordial, helpful and professional staff. This was my second trip to Vancouver and both times I stayed in the Coast Coal Hotel. Highly recommended.
Feel at home
This is an excellent hotel, the rooms are very clean and the staff is so kind and helpful. You’ll feel at home right away, and you’ll be steps away from the convention center and gastown restaurants. In addition, the upper floors have a magnificent view.
we would love to come back. It is an excellent hotel near to Canada place where you can take a hop-on hop-off bus for a city-tour or a park tour. All emloyees we met are very kind and mmake a great job
Great choice for a weekend getaway.
I booked the Coast Hotel for a quick, almost spring, weekend getaway. It was a great choice, and suited my requirements perfectly. I arrived early morning from the airport via transit to Waterfront station – a short walk through a quieter part of downtown. I intended to store my bags until check-in time, but I was offered an available room immediately – and an upgrade to a beautiful king room with a harbour view. Nice to get settled and start my weekend! The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient. The secure elevator was appreciated. The guest floors were calm, and tasteful. My room was spacious and decorated in soft, muted tones – fairly understated, clean, comfortable and contemporary. A nice bathroom with a soaker tub, and a fancy toilet (which was actually a great feature). Comfortable bed, nice linens, and a great window-side chair for enjoying the waterfront view. The 16th floor I was staying on was extremely quiet. The room ventilation fan was a bit noisy, but could be turned off. An operable window provided another option for fresh air – great for sleeping. I didn’t spend much time in the room but very nice to come back too.
The Coal Harbour neighbourhood is a quieter part of downtown with high end condo towers, convention facilities and office buildings, but close to the more active areas. A nearby trendy market, pharmacy and convenience store were handy for coffee, snacks, etc. Access to the seawall and Stanley Park was convenient for an early morning circuit around the park, and the soaker tub was super nice after the trek. I didn’t make use of the outdoor pool, hot tub or fitness centre. Most of the downtown area is accessible on foot or one or two transit stops – I checked out Yaletown, Gastown, English Bay, False Creek/Granville Island, Vancouver Art Gallery, wandered the West End, shopping along Robson, Denman, Davie as well as a VanDusen Botanical Garden. Many options for great dining and cocktails in downtown Vancouver.
The Coast Coal Harbour was good value for Vancouver, and the rates did not include extra fees, levies, or charges. I will definitely book the Coast Hotel in the future and will recommend to others.
Comfortable and enjoyable stay
I love this hotel. Stayed there 8 years ago & enjoyed it then too. Not disappointed again after 8 years; still received excellent service both in hotel and restaurant. Rooms very clean; loved the bidet. Bath gels & shampoo great quality. Rooms quiet; beds comfortable. Centrally located to shops & entertainment. It’s good to see that quality stayed the same if not better in 8 years. Hotel still well-maintained; some places get old looking. Not this place. Still new & fresh looking.
