Above and Beyond!
My wife and I came to the Coast to deliver their first ever hotel born baby! The staff at the Coast were just as big a part of the experience as the team of midwives. They were very understanding, compassionate, and despite having the opportunity to charge us whatever they wanted for one of the last available rooms in Penticton, they were fair and hospitable; more concerned for our welfare than the money we represented to them. The baby was born healthy and safe. Big thanks to Colin and the rest of the team at the front desk! You guys were amazing!
A group of us came for a concert and all stayed at the coast. My room was very clean and functional. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with the bed and the overall layout of the room. I would stay there again.
Good Hotel - close to the South Okanagan Events Centre
The Hotel was easy to get to – and I appreciated that it was so close to the South Okanagan Events Centre. It was also off-season so I got a good rate by booking it with an online travel site.
The queen beds were HEAVENLY….very firm, yet comfortable and the duvets were very nice too. We didn’t try the restaurant there, but did go to Denny’s across the street. Also, the bar across the street was alright too.
We walked to the Casino downtown and back – lovely evening – about 20 minutes to get there.
I would recommend this hotel again. We stayed in room 101 and it was very very big. There was no microwave but it did have a bar fridge. The bathroom was very big. The room was also very dark when the curtains were drawn – hardly let in any light. I did find it quite quiet as well, despite there being a street right out front.
NOTE: I had requested a room with 2 queen beds AND a cot; the room was for my husband, me, and our 16 year old son. See, my husband and I don’t share a bed, hence the three beds. When we checked in, the front desk told us that the cot might not be available (which I had phoned and requested two weeks earlier). I told her that we needed the cot and it was okay if we waited until one was made up for us. She then said “well, there’s two beds so you don’t need it anyway”. I thought this was a bit rude by assuming that we shared a bed and I did not want to explain the details to her – so I just said “it’s okay, we’ll manage”. Anyways, it ended up that there was a cot already in the room when we went in to the room. The cot was EXTREMELY uncomfortable so we ended up just putting the cot-mattress on the floor and left the frame in the corner. SO it worked out. Our son said it worked great and was comfortable that way.
From the outside the Coast looks like most other hotels, however the Superior rooms offer an unexpected luxury. A soak in the jetted tub followed by a rainfall shower was a fantastic way to relax before heading out for the evening. The proximity to the Trade & Convention Centre was an added bonus. We enjoyed a wonderful stay.
Nice clean, comfortable hotel
We chose this hotel because of it’s great proximity to the Penticton Convention Center. The area of town is a little shady just a few blocks in either direction, but I didn’t feel concerned parking my car in the open lot or walking the block to my event. The beds were clean and very comfortable, the halls and elevator had seen better days but the lobby and rooms all looked recently updated. The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. I paid with a points coupon and there were no problems or confusion at check in or check out. I was a little concerned about noise as we were travelling with a small child and the hotel was filled with young hocky players, but there seemed little reason for concern. Well sound proofed or else the hockey players were the most unusually well behaved group we’ve ever encountered. Over all I’d recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice clean reasonably priced place to stay in penticton.
