Coast Penticton Hotel
Location: about 5 mins from the main (downtown) area.
Reception: fantastic… friendly and professional. Thanks Manda!
Have you ever heard the expression, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? The saying applies to this hotel. From outward appearances the place looks a bit tired. The lobby is nice and clean but the elevator is a tad tiny and old in appearance. The hallways appear a bit drab. Then you get to open the door to your suite and everything changes!
My room was super-clean, modern and ultra-comfortable. I had a jacuzzi suite complete with a huge walk-in shower. It was equipped with a hand-held shower head (I like those) as well as an over-head rain-shower! The enclosed glass shower also housed the (separate) jacuzzi tub.
The bathroom was roomy and equipped with a wall-mounted TV.
Soap amenities were better than average and he towels were of excellent quality.
Coffee Maker: in-room one-cupper type… and Starbuck’s was the brand they supplied.
Work area: large enough deal with plenty of storage areas… perfect if you’re staying for a few days. If I have one critique it is for the desk-chair. It’s not one of the hydraulic, with wheels type but rather just a chair. As a result it’s not quite comfortable enough to type as you have to reach up. Since the chair is not on wheels, you have to drag it on the carpet to move it around. That’s the only critique I have about the room.
Wall Plugs: Adequate
Internet Signal: Strong
In-house Restaurant: There is one open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are good, and the service is really friendly. I had a club sandwich there for lunch and it was excellent. Thanks Suzi for the great service!
The Bed: Amazing! Ranks with the best of slept on and my temperamental back is very fussy. The “Heavenly Beds” at the Sheraton rank (to me anyway) highest of them all (when in good shape). This room’s bed EQUALLED it in comfort 100%. I didn’t want to get outta the thing!
Would I return? Without a question of any doubt… YES!

Downtown - Good Location
This hotel has obviously been through a few ownerships and appears to be very tired. Our room was likely smoking at one time and the odor was noticeable. However the location is excellent since it’s downtown and convenient to restaurants and shops.
The price was right for the type of accommodation offered.
HAIR IN THE BED!!!
Stayed in the Coast Hotel in Penticton on Friday november 21,2014. It’s an old hotel that has been renovated however not nearly to the brand standards of Coast Hotels.
Newer sink in the bathroom but still the old tub with hot and cold taps. Old shower curtain rod as well.
Power cord for the in wall air conditioner was hanging down and unsightly.
The worst was when I turned the sheets back on the bed. I found hair on the sheets and pillow. I called the front desk and she said sometimes the housekeeping staff looses a hair when making the bed. This was not the case. There was many hairs of varying length in the sheets. Clearly the bed was not changed from the last guest!!
I called the front desk and she firstly offered to change the sheets and then offered for me to change rooms.
On the plus side the front desk lady removed the room charge for the night.
I found another thing odd. When I checked in I advised the front desk agent that I had stayed at Coast Hotels in various locations throughout BC and that I should be in their databank system. He advised that they were not part of that system. If you are truly a Coast Hotel should you not be on the Hotels computer system. When I stayed in Kamloops in August they immediately retrieved my information even though I had never stayed at that particular hotel
