Skiing at Revelstoke

Revelstoke is home to the longest runs and the most vertical terrain in North America. The Last Spike run alone goes more than 15 kilometers. 1,713 meters of downhill runs are right at your fingertips when you stay at Coast Hillcrest Hotel. Aside from their top-notch snowfall and terrain,  Revelstoke exceeds 10 meters annually. That means tons of great powder and almost no need for artificial snow. You don’t have to be an expert skier to make the most of your Revelstoke experience. Ski schools and equipment rentals are available for all ages. Experienced instructors will teach you the skills you need to start hitting the slopes. You can also choose to sign up for backcountry skiing training to expand your terrain options even more.

Group rates for ski clubs, universities, corporate events, and more, along with multi-day pass deals make the fun even more affordable. Residents of Western Canada and Washington, Oregon, and Idaho have the option to purchase the Vertical Card. This option allows you to prepay for your future visits to North America’s most versatile and exciting ski destination.

If you’re looking to explore on your own, local sport shops in town provide snowshoe rentals. Revelstoke has many trails to choose from, but make sure to do research ahead of time about avalanche terrain. If you plan to head to these spots, you will need to be aware of the forecast, the risks that come with these regions, and you will need to travel with the proper safety gear.

Howling Good Times with Dog Sledding Tours

Another great activity is a Revelstoke dog-sledding tour. You can book individual or group tours that will take you through snowy trails. Better than a sleigh ride, a dog-sledding tour lets you hold the reins and learn how to mush like an expert. Or, you can opt for a more intimate outing with your sweetheart and have a guided tour for two through some of the most breathtaking mountains in Western Canada. You will need to bundle up for the three-hour tours. Snow pants, a good winter coat, boots, scarves, and hats are necessities.
