Since 1955, BC families have been relying
on Easter Seals Houses as a ‘home away from
home’ when traveling from their hometown to seek
medical treatments. There are 3 houses across BC including
Vancouver, Victoria and Prince George. Annually, the houses
provide over 35,000 bed nights. While similar organizations
offer rooms as well, they specialize in specific illnesses
such as cancer or terminally ill. An Easter Seals House is
the ‘house for everyone’ they welcome
children with disabilities, transplants, cancer, down
syndrome, autism, kidney disease, preemie babies and
seniors. |
