Coast Gateway Hotel
The best hotel and staff!
I stay at this hotel which is one of the few upper class hotels that still have smoking rooms (don’t worry you non-smokers-they only allow us on the top 6th floor).
I stay here when I do business in Seattle-centrally located to get to Tacoma/Downtown and the surrounding areas easily.
Wonderful staff and a great restaurant/bar next door with prime rib and happy hour.

Alaska airlines changed our flights from Victoria to cabo thus we couldn’t make our connections from Seattle. they gave us a coupon for a hotel for the night. we did not know which hotel we’d be staying at. we are starwood members and know what to expect with our stays. after arriving in seattle, we picked up the hotel coupon, and then phoned from the hotel shuttle level at the airport and waited a bit for the bus, a 2-3 minute drive to the hotel. arrived, happy to see that it was a coast hotel which we had stayed at years ago in vancouver. as we checked in, airline staff also arrived which again increased our expectations. our room was quite fine, on the ground floor, fairly modern, coffee machine, clean. I got extra coffee and creams from the breakfast room. pleasant staff. looked up on trip advisor to see where to eat, we were right across the parking lot from “sharps roast house” so quickly went over there to catch happy hour. caught the shuttle early next morning, too early for the complimentary breakfast. very happy with our experience here!
Park and Fly
We live about 45 minutes from Sea-Tac airport and when we have an early morning flight, we always stay at the Coast Gateway Hotel the night before. We use their “park and fly” offer and for not much more than regular room rates we get a week of free parking. The shuttle will pick you up from the MasterPark lot and return you to the hotel after dropping off your car. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We usually leave earlier than their complimentary breakfast starts, but on the times we have had it, it was good. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel for dinner. The hotel staff are all friendly and helpful, especially at 4:30 am when we are taking the shuttle to the airport. We have been staying at the Coast Gateway for years and I recommend it to anyone that has an early morning flight and doesn’t want to deal with the traffic woes of I-5.
could be better
Loved close proximity to airport as bad weather was forecast. Staff was pretty friendly but not too obliging about shuttle usage assistance. Do not get room 125. It’s right in front of dumpster with a sorry view and lots of banging at the dumpster. We also had to walk around workmen, who were removating, and their tools to get to our room. Have seen much better breakfasts at other hotels. No complmentagy coffee in lobby. Did offer flight check in with printing of boarding passes. Very clean.
Simply OK, Pillows are the worst....
This hotel is average, price is a bit high for an average hotel and it’s a 2.5 star, not a 3. The beds are adequate, but the pillows are the worst, glorified bags of cement. The workout room exists but is tiny, at least the machines work. The breakfast is below average. Great location next to Roasters and the airport.
