Amazing views, okay rooms
The views from our room were amazing. We had a small balcony and could see all the way down the harbour to the Empress hotel as well as could see sea planes taking off further down the harbour. Only complaint was that the bathroom was pretty dirty with hairs and the actual rooms were pretty plain given the price point.

An enjoyable trip to Victoria.
My wife and I spent six nights in this hotel from 7th-13th July 2014. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready at the check in time and we were told that “housekeeping was very slow”. We left our cases and went for a walk. When we returned we were told that one possible room was ready but if we were prepared to wait another hour we could be allocated a better room with a mountain view rather than the side of a building. We decided to wait and when we eventually checked in we were given a compensatory breakfast voucher for the next morning.
We were pleased enough with room 621 which looked over the road at the front of the hotel. We really had hoped for a useable balcony as the weather was lovely and a sea/harbour view would have been fantastic. Our balcony was tiny with no chairs so not useable. We decided not to ask for a room change as we had already had to wait to get this “superior room”. The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. We slept well.
The hotel is well placed beside the atmospheric Fisherman’s Wharf and a twenty minute walk into Downtown. We enjoyed the location.
We decided to book this Coast hotel because of our excellent experience over many years of staying in The Coast in Tsawwassen and we like to swim each morning. The indoor/outdoor pool in The Harbourside really suited our early morning swims although occasionally there were no towels in the men’s changing room.
We are of the view that the hotel management need to install a coin operated on site laundry to accommodate travellers who arrive by seaplane with limited luggage. That is the case in Tsawwwassen and very useful.
All in all our experience was positive and feel that a few alterations in operation would move this hotel from “good” to “excellent”. However we do think it is quite expensive for what it offers .
Great location but poor view!
I think I had built this hotel up to be more amazing than I actually found it. Although there was nothing in particular wrong with our stay, I felt the room was a bit dated almost and just slightly dull. although the room itself was very well sized with a comfortable seating area too. The bed was a little smaller than some others we had during our trip to Canada but still very comfortable.
The hotel was in a lovely location but unfortunately, we didn’t have much of a view (our room was just over the main hotel entrance so we didn’t actually use our balcony).
The hotel itself is actually in a really good location, about 10-15 minute walk from central Victoria and I imagine the rooms facing the harbour had lovely views.
The pool area was really nice although the flooring was extremely slippery!!

Very nice stay at the hotel. Would come back again. Good location and expierience in the room and with the staff. Restaurant service was a little slow during one dining visit. Victoria is a wonderful city to visit.
We had a lovely time prior to our wedding when we decided to come a few days early and the hotel we were staying at for our wedding had no space earlier in the week.
They could upgrade the bathrooms and some of the public areas like the pool/locker rooms, but it was very comfortable in any event.
We had one snafu with an inattentive manager, but even though the hotel failed to acknowledge that mistake, they made up for it with various little touches from the rest of the staff.
The restaurant, food, drinks, and service were nothing special, but better than many hotel restaurants, so nothing bad there.
