Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel & Marina
Very clean hotel in beautiful position :)
This is a great hotel in a prime position. It is only 2 minutes walk from Fishermans Wharf which is delightful for lunch (closed now for dinner) and approximately 20 minute walk or 5 minute water taxi ride downtown. On one day we took the water taxi downtown ($5 per person plus tip) and then walked home as the water taxis had stopped running (they stop at 7:00pm for autumn & winter). It was lovely. If you have a mobility issue then I’m sure one of the hundreds of taxis that peruse the streets could also get you back pretty cheaply. I chose this hotel as I wanted peace near the water & downtown and that is exactly what we got.
Nearly all the staff were very helpful, friendly & professional, the only exception was (strangely enough) the concierge. In the 2 days we stayed he did not smile at us once (and I like to smile at people), when I would catch his eye and smile at him he would just look at me somewhat disdainfully. Very odd behaviour.
The room was very clean, smelt nice and whilst we were not expecting a water view, because of the positioning of the room, we did get one which was lovely.
I like the fact that they are trying to be as environmentally responsible as possible by reducing unnecessary wastage or cleaning of bedding/ towels etc.
The king size bed was pure delight – I actually forgot my husband was in there with me!!
We will come back here & highly recommend.
Another great experience
This was our second Thanksgiving weekend spent at this hotel, when I say ‘our’ I mean the group of Visually Impaired & Blind athletes plus their guides who visit from across Canada and the U.S for the Fitness Goodlife Marathon. This hotel has become our ‘go to’ for accommodation and banquet. which is held on the Saturday before race day Sunday. The staff are excellent, empathetic to all the needs of the blind. Our pre race banquet is exquisitely catered, the quantity is more than adequate and the price is most reasonable.
The rooms are clean and well maintained, this hotel is the cherry on top of the cake for our weekend.
My only criticism is I wish there were real cups for the coffee maker and not the usual polystyrene.

Canadian Highlights Part 2 - Aug/Sep 2014
We had so many wonderful experiences on our Titan tour of Vancouver, Inside Passage and the Rockies but I have tried to review our personal highlights (but I could go on forever ………….)
We spent two nights at the Coast Victoria Harboursidea and what a memorable stay that was. Our room, overlooking the harbour, was beautifully appointed and the daytime comings and goings of the seaplanes, boats and ferries was a constant source of interest to my husband. So much so that on the first morning he jumped out of bed and ran to the window for the first seaplane take off of the day – I hadn’t seen him move so fast in years!
The Blue Crab restaurant at the hotel was fabulous for dinner and breakfast. We had one of the best evening meals of our holiday there. The service was attentive and friendly (something that seems to be achieved all over Canada without exception).
We would thoroughly recommend both the hotel and its restaurant.
In heart of action
This is a great hotel especially if your rooms faces harbour. Float planes take off every few minutes, boats criss-cross water. 2 minutes walk to wharf . We ate in the harbour facing restaurant that was excellent, if a bit pricey. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Lovely staff and location
We spent a couple of nights here on our tour of Western Canada and what really made our stay was the extremely friendly and helpful staff. We arrived on a Tuesday to a managers meet and greet session – all managers we spoke to were very nice. Only ate once (breakfast) which was good value for money. Good location with a nice walk into town and Orca Spirit whale tours situated in the same building.
