Good quality hotel in a great location.

As part of our recent tour of Canada we stayed at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel.
A good quality hotel with very helpful reception staff, we requested a fridge and within minutes they had delivered one to our room. Any assistance we asked for was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and tasteful decor
We found the location excellent with its close proximity to Stanley Park, Harbour, shops and restaurants.Nearby is a good store where you can buy supplies and even meals if you are looking for a quick breakfast. There is bicycle hire, seaplane terminal and the seawall where we enjoyed lovely evening strolls watching the sunset.
I would without doubt stay there again if I was to return to Vancouver.

First Visit to Vancouver

We stay at the Cost Coal Harbour Hotel in July, 2015 and has a very good location to Stanley Park, Vancouver Conference Center and cruise ship terminal. We had a partial view of the harbour bay on the 17th floor. It was centrally located to restaurants and parks. We found Quick Bus, which picked us up at the Pan Pacific hotel around 9 am and took us all the way to the Seattle/Tacoma airport. Went through customs quickly at the border and arrived at the airport around 2:15 pm in plenty of time for our 5 pm flight back to Oakland airport.

Perfectly fine hotel for 4 or fewer guests

We are a family of 6 (4 kids, 2 adults) and I searched high and low for a hotel in Vancouver that would fit our entire family in one suite/room. I was thrilled when I found Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. I booked through their site on the internet for 6 guests. Every other hotel I tried to book rejected my booking saying that 6 guests exceeded the amount allowed for the room. Coast Coal did not. So, imagine my surprise when we got to the hotel and there were 2 double beds in a very small room. They told me all the rooms are this size and the website I booked with should not have allowed 6 guests. Luckily, I had a paper copy of the reservation and showed them that I booked through their website! Then, the woman at the desk told me they “don’t count kids as guests.” Okay, then why do they ask how many kids on the website? Finally recognizing their problem, they assured me that they would modify the website so this didn’t occur in the future. I has been 2 weeks and I just checked. You can still book for 6 guests. DON’T. The told me that fire codes prevented them from putting a cot in the room because the rooms were so small. They “solved” the problem by putting a mattress on the floor which I’m sure also violated fire codes. If you are trying to book for 6 guests, get 2 rooms at a cheaper hotel.

Great room, great location

First things first, this is an excellent hotel with a fine room. Clean, elegant, comfortable. The hotel itself is ideal, and you should book it, period.

But in Vancouver, you’re likely more concerned about location. I think this is a pretty fine location for whatever reason you’re in town. It’s not a short walk to any particular attraction, but it’s in a centrally located place. Stanley Park is a reasonable walk one way, Gastown another, Robson Street another. Short of staying directly on Robson Street, you are not likely to find a better location if you want to visit these three areas. We went to all three frequently and had no complaints about the walk, but it’s at least 10-15 minutes in either direction to Stanley Park or Gastown – fine by us.

The best perk was closeness to Canada Place, as we stayed here before a cruise. We considered lugging our bags to the ship but opted for a cab, it was so close it cost only $6! Can’t beat that!

Very Good Hotel

Clean rooms and a great view! Great location and walking distance to transit and many downtown attractions. There is only valet parking and it’s a premium price so you may want to consider other parking alternatives.
