Coast Coal Harbour Hotel
What A Great Hotel !
Stayed at The Coast Coal Harbour on January 17, 2015 and was impressed from the get go.
From the excellent valet service to our speedy check in, we had a great night. Our room (1809) was very spacious, great view and the free wifi was top notch.
Preston’s is very classy, had a late night couple of drinks there & lunch the following day.
All in all, the room was immaculate & well maintained, the staff were super friendly & we had a great experience during our 1 night stay at your beautiful hotel.
I would also like to thank Caitlynn Schell, sooo nice & helpful, made our stay so memorable.
We definitely will be back !!!

We stayed 4 days in the second week of January during a tradeshow at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The hotel was ideally located and very welcoming.
Check in was easy and the valet was helpful in getting a car looked after. My room was a corner room on the 15th floor. It was well appointed. We got a great rate for the quality of this hotel. There are a number of restaurants located nearby and the harbour is only a couple blocks away. I will stay here again when I am in Vancouver.
Very Pleased - Recommended
We stayed a week at this hotel over Christmas holidays. Overall we were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The location is near the waterfront, so it is within walking distance to tourist sites (Convention Centre, Olympic Torch, Canada Place, etc.) and shopping on Robson. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from the Waterfront Skytrain Station.
We arrived late due to airline delay. When we arrived I saw no doorman out front or bellboy to help with bags. This was not a problem for us, as we only had one large bag, but may concern others. The check-in was quick, efficient friendly. We were upgraded to a room with a nice view of the harbour, which we appreciated. The room was large and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The room was cleaned well each day, with adequate toiletries. There was a small empty bar fridge in the room, that came in handy. There was a coffeemaker in the room.
A newspaper was delivered to our door each day (except holidays), which was nice. There was no evening turn-down service. Also, the vending machine selection was very limited and only had soft drink but no snacks. On the other hand, there is a 7-11, Urban Fare, Shoppers Drug Mart, Starbucks, and other stores, very close by. Check-out was quick.
My only complaint relates to the restaurant: The decor was beautiful, the servers were friendly, but the food was terrible. They need a new cook. Although conveniently located on the second floor of the hotel, the food was so bad and so expensive, that we gave up and ate elsewhere after two visits. They actually used an orange-coloured Thousand Island dressing in the Caesar salad! The burger was dry and not juicy, the salmon portion was very small for the high cost, the fries were bits and pieces and tasted like frozen fries, not freshly cut potatoes.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again should we visit Vancouver.
I stayed here for 4 nights and was thoroughly impressed. Check-in was a breeze, the hotel room was very clean with all new modern amenities. High definition TV and fast internet connection. I had the basic room and it was very big with a king sized bed. The bed was very comfortable although the pillows were a bit lumpy. Housekeeping was fantastic, they organized all my things without misplacing anything. My only complaint is that the heat/air conditioning fan turns on approximately every 20 minutes to keep up the temperature and it is very loud. It can be turned off but the room would get cold through the night. It was loud enough to wake me up each time on the first night but I slept through it the next three nights.
Location is fantastic, you are in Coal Harbour, an very nice area of downtown Vancouver. You are not far from Gastown, the oldest neighbourhood in Vancouver. You can walk 2 minutes to Canada Place and the Convention Centre with magnificent views of Vancouver Harbour. In the summer you can see the cruise ships coming in and out of the port as well as watching seaplanes take off and land (near Cactus Club Cafe). The hotel is surrounded by many buildings so you won’t have much of a view from your room, but this wasn’t terribly important to me. Downtown Vancouver is not very big, so it is easy to walk to Stanley Park (15 minute walk) or English Bay (25 minute walk) and everything in between.
I had some colleagues stay across the street at the Renaissance. The views from the north rooms were amazing but the rooms were not even close to as nice as the ones here at Coast Coal Harbour. I paid less than them and was very satisfied with my decision. I would highly recommend this hotel for this location and price range.
Nice place, very reasonably priced!
Perfect if you want a great location in Downtown Vancouver at a reasonable price! Bella Galeteria is 5 minutes walk and well worth a visit. The exercise machines (strider & treadmill) in the gym were of poor quality, as a result we had some issues so we just headed to the pool.
