Coast Penticton Hotel
Friday the 13th!
Maybe it was the day(Friday 13 of March). We were not impressed with the indifference
in having to wait 50 minutes to get into our room.Check in time 3pm.We had to wait until 10
to 4pm. The bathroom had sptder webs behind the door and when turning fan on in air conditioner it looked like the vents hadn’t been cleaned in years. That is it!
Would not go back.
Great indoor pool and hot tub
After checking out prices and reviews for hotels in Penticton, I chose this one. I had 2 teens with me and wanted a pool and hot tub. I agree the hotel is a bit dated, but our stay was very satisfactory and we would stay here again. I agree with the review that Harvey C below made, the rooms were nice, however we weren’t lucky enough to have a jacuzzi suite, we were upgraded to a suite with a separate bedroom. The pool and hot tub area (once we figured out how to get in) looked like it was well maintained, we were there in march so the outside pool wasn’t open yet. After staying a couple days here I would recommend it.
My last visit was extremely disappointing. There were very few people staying at the hotel, and the room I was given had a giant pillar in the middle of the room! Unacceptable.
They seemed to try with putting in nicer furnishings, but you can tell it is all cheep. The bed was uncomfortable, the chair at the desk was far too short to use as a work station, oh and not to mention the sketchiest elevator I have ever seen.
I needed wi-fi in order to work, but they told me they had issues and that I should just use Shaw Open. Eventually they fixed it, but I lost an afternoon of work.
When I checked out I cancelled my reservation for an upcoming 10 night stay because I wasn’t happy with the Hotel, and they didn’t even bother to ask why.
I will not stay here again.
Bad place to stay for the Money
My sisters and I stayed at this hotel and were not very impressed with it at all. The elevator was fit for one person maybe two, when you got to the top floor or any floor for that matter the elevator opened two high so you could not get their one little dolly out to the floor without someone lifting it from the other end. Not a good place to stay this used to be the Travel lodge Hotel, so it is a very old Hotel, I feel the price was too high for what you get.
Location: about 5 mins from the main (downtown) area.
Reception: fantastic… friendly and professional. Thanks Manda!
Have you ever heard the expression, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? The saying applies to this hotel. From outward appearances the place looks a bit tired. The lobby is nice and clean but the elevator is a tad tiny and old in appearance. The hallways appear a bit drab. Then you get to open the door to your suite and everything changes!
My room was super-clean, modern and ultra-comfortable. I had a jacuzzi suite complete with a huge walk-in shower. It was equipped with a hand-held shower head (I like those) as well as an over-head rain-shower! The enclosed glass shower also housed the (separate) jacuzzi tub.
The bathroom was roomy and equipped with a wall-mounted TV.
Soap amenities were better than average and he towels were of excellent quality.
Coffee Maker: in-room one-cupper type… and Starbuck’s was the brand they supplied.
Work area: large enough deal with plenty of storage areas… perfect if you’re staying for a few days. If I have one critique it is for the desk-chair. It’s not one of the hydraulic, with wheels type but rather just a chair. As a result it’s not quite comfortable enough to type as you have to reach up. Since the chair is not on wheels, you have to drag it on the carpet to move it around. That’s the only critique I have about the room.
Wall Plugs: Adequate
Internet Signal: Strong
In-house Restaurant: There is one open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices are good, and the service is really friendly. I had a club sandwich there for lunch and it was excellent. Thanks Suzi for the great service!
The Bed: Amazing! Ranks with the best of slept on and my temperamental back is very fussy. The “Heavenly Beds” at the Sheraton rank (to me anyway) highest of them all (when in good shape). This room’s bed EQUALLED it in comfort 100%. I didn’t want to get outta the thing!
Would I return? Without a question of any doubt… YES!
