Nice hotel. Not very organized.
I stayed here on a recent business trip. The organization that invited me had made a reservation on their account but the hotel had no record of it when I arrived. So it was a bit stressful to have no where to stay.
They gave me a room right away and then upgraded me to a beautiful room with a great view as they were feeling bad. However I had to leave a credit card because they had no corporate reservation. I didn’t have much choice at that point and for $200 wasn’t going to make a big fuss.
When the organizers called them later they said they did have the reservation and apologized weren’t sure why the front desk couldn’t find itand said my card would not be charged.
When I went to checkout the next day they told me it was all taken care of so not to worry. I asked for a copy of my guest folio and they said no as I was not paying for it that they couldn’t give it to me.
Later that evening at 9:30 pm they called me at home and left a message saying I hadn’t paid my bill. I tried calling back but could not get through as the # they gave me was a central booking # and then she couldn’t transfer me.
I tried for a couple of days and could not get through. Then I saw they had charged my card anyway and I had no receipt to provide my hosts for reimbursement.
The hotel itself is very nice. The food not bad and I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. But the whole experience with my reservation left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
A beautiful 2 day trip in Nanaimo
Loved the location easy to find and very central. We visited areas around there and then we drove up to Victoria. You can enjoy a nice walk around the water and stopped at a few outside Bristols. We would definitely stay there again.
Comfortable & Elegant
Room #804 was clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable & well appointed. The view of the harbour was lovely & it was nice to have the Juliette balcony on such a beautiful day, though the a/c came in handy too. The front desk staff were friendly & efficient. A very pleasant place to stay in Nanaimo.
A wonderful experience. Fantastic view from our room. Very accommodating staff. Ian made our stay exceed expectations. My wife and I traveling Vancouver Island found the town very friendly and very quaint. A beautiful little spot to stay before traveling across the island. We loved our room with a great view of the harbor.

BC Ferries booked us this hotel as part of our ferry package. It was outstanding. My second stay in a Coast hotel this trip! I’m completely impressed with both. Great room, very clean, comfortable, beautifully appointed, great view, staff were wonderful! The hotel is in the downtown city centre right on the water. The downtown core is disappointing…downtown centre is full of vagrants, and there is no area where there is any action (bars, cafes etc.)
There is a small casino beside the hotel.
