Great Location!

This hotel is conveniently located along the waterfront of downtown Naniamo with many restaurants close by. We had a bright spacious, recently renovated room overlooking the water. It had a huge flat screen TV, fridge, and very comfortable beds. The staff was helpful and friendly and helped to make our stay very pleasant.

helpful staff

Great spot, with great front-line staff who problem-solve with ease. We had a big presentation, 450 people at a town hall meeting with Tom Mulcair, and still the front desk staff were looking after little details (like an IPhone charger!). The bar and restaurant staff are friendly, discreet, and understanding when meals need to come on a fast timeline. Great work and support all around.

Wonderful Getaway

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday, we only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay. Staff was amazing, very professional and helpful. We were on the 11th floor with an amazing view. Will definitely stay here again. We ate breakfast in the restuarant which was fantastic as well!

Treated us like gold

From our first encounter at the front desk to our departure every employee we encountered was friendly and welcoming. When my husband mentioned we had stayed here 25+ years ago we were upgraded to a beautiful room on the 15 th floor.

Hot tub with a lovely sea view

We were only in Nanaimo one night but very pleased we chose the Coast Bastion – the room was great; spotless, huge with a hot tub bath on a raised platform looking out at the view of the sea. Gary the Concierge was brilliant when we arrived – he gave us vouchers for the little ferry over to Protection island and packed us off immediately so we didn’t miss the boat. We enjoyed the best fish and chips I have ever tasted (We are Brits so think about that for a moment!) at the Dinghy Dock pub – the staff were all really friendly and helpful and we could have sat there in the sun all day. We ate in the hotel and the food was very nice that evening. One other thing to try is the Nanaimo bar from the local chocolate shop – yummy pretty much covers that one.
