Clean but costly
Overall the hotel was very clean with friendly and helpful staff. I did not think it was worth the money paid for each night of the room, however, despite it being a summer weekend in Kelowna. The hotel is old, with most structures renovated but the bathrooms and carpets remain a bit old-looking. The beds were quite comfortable. There’s not much to do walking-distance, so I would recommend renting a car. There is also no airport transportation that is convenient other than taxi which is approximately $35-40 one way.
The breakfast in the morning was fantastic! I never tried the pool, but it seemed busy and used which is always a good sign.
Very enjoyable family okanagan trip
We checked into Kelowna Coast Capri Hotel Monday evening for 4 days as a family of 4 with 2 kids. We got the 2nd floor room 281 in old part of building (not the tower). The rooms were clean, with comfortable beds. The room overall was very tight and small for our family, it was also noisy 2 of 4 nights as it overlooks the pool. The rooms and bathroom are outdated small sinks and tubs with simple shower head. Nothing fancy very basic rooms. The location was central so it’s easy to head down 97c hwy towards Summerland or Penticton or head to East Kelowna. Customer service was ok, the buffet is good but not a lot of options for vegetarians.
The hotel is on main highway so there is a lot of traffic. Pretty much need a car to get around. There’s a spaghetti factory just adjacent to hotel on Gordon Dr, and lots of shops up and down he main drag (Harvey ave).
We spent most of our time on okanagan lake beaches including Summerland, Peachland, Gyro Beach, City Park Widbit. Highly recommend driving amongst miles of Summerland fruit orchards and stop off at Summerland sweets for jam, ice cream and wine tasting, small boutique shops in town, kettle valley trails and beach area. Peachland beaches are also amazing less sandy more pebbles but fantastic views. You can park right next to the beach if you get there early. The best beach hands down was gyro beach in Kelowna its all sand, there’s a rental place for paddle boards, inflatable boats. Kids thoroughly enjoyed this beach, there was also a playground and zip line into water very popular. The water isn’t very deep and you can go in pretty far up to 100 yards before it gets deep.
There is an urban fare just down the street from Gyro for great selection of food much better than a restaurant. Another restaurant we enjoyed was papadoms in east Kelowna its Indian fusion but highly recommend it.
Forgot to mention the Widbit water at city park, its a very popular activity with kids. Kids need to ear a life jacket as water is deep but super fun. There is a lifeguards in play area as well.
We also visited the kangaroo farm highly recommended and played mini golf and raced go carts at Scandia.
We will definitely be coming back yearly to the valley and probably staying away from the city next time (very busy) and enjoy smaller towns around lake close to beaches.

My family of 4 visited kelowna for a football tournament we had a pool side room just two steps down and we were swimming in the pool! The continental breakfast was incredible huge selection of food. The room was a bit small but being summer time we didn’t spend much time in there. Live music one night great selection of drinks! I love the coast hotel chain and I will definitely be back!
This is a very nice hotel. It is always being updated and has a great pool. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Really good hot complimentary breakfast in the morning. Restaurant not really suited to children though (for dinner). It was pleasure staying here.
This is a nice hotel located next to a shopping center. Has a nice size outdoor pool in the middle of the hotel. The vintners grill is very good with live entertainment on weekends. It is close to downtown, probably 5 minute drive maybe 20 minute walk to city park. Lots of good restaurants and shopping in the area.
