About our Carbon Offset Program
| This program gives Coast guests the opportunity to voluntarily offset the carbon emitted due to their stay at a Coast property. Carbon emissions are often referred to as the ‘carbon footprint’ of an activity. The carbon footprint from staying one night at a Coast hotel is approximately .03 tonnes of carbon dioxide. This is similar to the carbon emitted when driving a medium size car for 150 km. How do we know the footprint of a one night stay? We used a 3rd party company to assist us in this measurement, using internationally recognized standards and guidelines. Our Carbon Offset Program is simple: Guests can redeem Coast Reward points to offset their stay or purchase offsets as an extra charge, like parking or a cot. |
