Coast Hillcrest Hotel
Lovely hotel away from the beaten track
We stayed here with our dog on the way to Calgary and were very pleased. Room and beds were comfortable, views are lovely, and staff is very warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a wonderful patio. Grounds are also well kept and beautiful. I would definitely stay here again
Well appointed rooms with comfortable beds
The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were comfortable with all the little amenities (shampoo/rinse/lotion/coffee/shower cap/mending kit/shoe shine cloth) you could want. The restaurant was pretty good although the servings were quite small (my salmon benedict had the smallest piece of smoked salmon poking out from under the egg) and the b’fast buffet cost for kids is the dollar value=their age. My 10 yr old daughter barely eats anything so just better to order from the kids menu. We ordered her French Toast for $5.50 and it came with one piece, no bacon or sides. Just that one piece. Fortunately it filled her up.The adult b’fast buffet was better value at $13.95 and my husband really enjoyed it.
The website showed pool photos but there is NO POOL (only a small hot tub-one indoor and one outdoor-adjacent to the patio part of the restaurant) so our daughter was disappointed. We heard other unhappy children who also discovered this news. They mentioned that they would remove the misleading photos.
Otherwise, the hotel room is awesome but I’d probably just go for the adult b’fast buffet if your tweens eat a lot.

Look forward to coming back for a family stay
In late June 2014 I stayed at the Hillcrest Coast Hotel in Revelstoke, BC. I was travelling solo with my baby to Alberta and Revelstoke was the halfway point. I’m a recent Coast Rewards member so I was eager to try out some of my perks. I was given a complimentary upgrade to one of their large, balcony rooms looking over Mount Robson.
My stay was lovely and I will definitely return in both the summer and with my ski-crazy partner in winter. Here’s why: the room was clean, spacious, well-laid out and comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful. I arrived just before the kitchen was closing and was starving. After unloading my car with baby and mommy gear I was settling into the room when the front desk chap called to remind me that the kitchen was closing soon if I needed food. He then transferred me right away to the lounge. 15 minutes later I had a very late but delicious dinner delivered to my room.
In the morning I had breakfast in their stunning dining room overlooking the mountains. The staff was friendly, the service was quick and efficient. As a Coast Rewards member I was offered a free breakfast and coffee.
This hotel is great value for money and worth more than a stopover stay.
The only thing I would suggest for the future: help road-wary mamas schlep their goodies up to the room. I wasn’t offered any help getting me and my luggage up to my room. I had a fairly tired, fussy babe with me and would’ve loved an offer to help me with my bags. BUT the fact that the front desk did call to let me know the kitchen was closing after I mentioned I needed food cancels out this one little criticism.
I look forward to staying at the Coast Revelstoke in the future with my hubby and bambino to explore the area and dine on their gorgeous deck.
A Wilderness Lodge Just Off The Highway
We have just finished our eighth stay in this hotel and anticipate returning again next year as we make our annual summer trek east to visit family and friends. We have always been provided with a room that faces across the valley, affording us a mountain view with little conspicous sign of civilization and we have never been bothered by traffic noise. It is a wood and stucco finished building, with great timbers and wooden railings framing a large deck with a panoramic view so perhaps some sound travel in the early evenings may inevitable but we have always enjoyed a restful sleep. The staff is friendly, welcoming and professional and the food at the restaurant is always excellent.

We had a room with balcony facing away from the parking lot and it was very peaceful. The room had a large window we were able to open and so were able to avoid a noisy air conditioner plus could experience the fresh mountain air. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud–absolutely heavenly! We will return!
