Coast Hillcrest Hotel
lovely hotel in the forest
excellent overnighter, absolutely excellent, only minutes from downtown by car, room was super clean and quiet, very comfy bed, beautiful property, good hot tubs and sauna, perfect stopover after day of driving )))
Wonderful view from the hot tub
We stayed at the Coast for only one night but it was great! Our room was large and quiet, the bed was comfortable and everything was neat and clean when we arrived.
We had a soak in the hot tub on the large deck in the evening, looking over the mountains and watching the sunset. Just perfect after a long day of driving.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Excellent but. ..
My wife and I stayed at the Coast Hillcrest twice during our current vacation. It’s in a beautiful setting and its restaurant, bar and patio enjoy a lovely view of the mountains. The restaurant is good and the staff is friendly and helpful, although we didn’t appreciate the service of one of the bar waiters.
The first time we reserved a Comfort room with view, no breakfast. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and everything was in working order. The room was on the third floor and had a wonderful view. We ordered from the breakfast menu in the morning. The buffet looked very good but we were tired of buffets.
For our second stay we reserved a Superior room with balcony, and added the full breakfast for $20. The add-on for the breakfast was worth it (our breakfast on our first stay cost $30). The upgrade for the balcony wasn’t. The room was on the second floor and our view was obscured by trees and the balcony turned out to be a common balcony shared by four rooms. Not what I had expected (I shoukd have looked more closely on our first stay).
Will I stay here again? Absolutely. Well I reserve a room with balcony? No.
Our vacation stop over
By far the best overnighter. We had a good rate as repeat customers, and also given an upgrade when we arrived. The room was spacious and spotless. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the dinning room this time, but had food from a very good bar menu with a local beer. If there was anything negative to say about our stay, it would be that the beer could have been colder.

Dismissive Staff, Overpriced
The location of this property is very convenient for the national park. That is the only positive. Rooms are adequate but no more. Questions posed to staff at reception and the bar were responded to with a dismissive, don’t bother me attitude. A previous stay several years ago reflects a decline in standards, a lack of investment, but… higher prices
