Coast Hotels & Resorts Sponsors Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association Awards Ceremony

    April 3rd, 2008
The Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) is pleased to announce Coast Hotels & Resorts as the sponsor of the Gold Key & Employer of Choice Awards Luncheon, which will be held on Tuesday, April 8 during the association’s 88th Annual Convention & Trade Show. This year’s event is being held for the first time ever at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The theme of the convention is “Inspiring Service”.

The AHLA’s Gold Key Awards celebrate the contributions of employees at all levels who, in their careers, have shown the attitude and dedication needed to serve visitors to Alberta. This year, 38 individuals from properties across the province will be recognized. With the support of Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry, the AHLA created a Human Resources Audit in 2007. The first online audit results are the basis for hotels, motels, campgrounds and resorts who have achieved the highest standard of human resource practices in Alberta’s hospitality industry to be recognized as Employers of Choice. A total of 16 properties will receive the award at the luncheon.

“Coast Hotels & Resorts has made a significant commitment to raising the standard of human resource practice not only in their hotels, but also at the provincial and national level,” said Dave Kaiser, AHLA President & CEO. “Coast Hotels & Resorts’ support for the Gold Key & Employer of Choice Luncheon demonstrates their continued leadership in the area of human resources.”

“Coast Hotels & Resorts is proud to sponsor this year’s Gold Key & Employer of Choice Awards Luncheon,” said Graeme Barrit, President of Coast Hotels & Resorts. “We know from experience the benefits of creating a people-based corporate culture where employees feel appreciated and their contributions are acknowledged and rewarded. We closely align our corporate values with our HR policies and tools to develop motivated and engaged Ambassadors whose success is closely aligned with the hotel’s performance.”
